Last weekend, I was wandering through Legoland, soaking in the creativity, the colors, the fun of it all. Between the laughter, the rides, and the incredible Lego builds towering all around, something stirred in my heart. As I watched people building their own little Lego creations, I felt God whisper something simple yet profound:
“I am the Master Builder — and you are My creation.”
It hit me. Life as a Christian sometimes feels a lot like being part of a giant Lego set. Each of us is a different build — unique, carefully designed, with instructions only the Builder fully understands. Some sets are small and straightforward, snapping together with ease. Others are enormous, intricate, and take far more time to complete. But all of them — every single one — are precious in the eyes of the Builder.
The Master Builder at Work
When you build a Lego set, sometimes a piece goes missing. Sometimes you put something in the wrong spot and have to pull it apart. Sometimes, halfway through, you wonder if it’s even going to look like the picture on the box.
That’s life, isn’t it? We start out with excitement, full of faith, eager to see what God’s plan will look like in our lives. But then… things fall apart. Pieces get lost. We make mistakes. Sometimes we even feel like we’ve been left on the shelf — unfinished, forgotten, waiting for something to happen.
But God never stops building.
The Bible says in Philippians 1:6:
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
He’s not done with you. Even when you can’t see progress, even when the pieces don’t seem to fit, He’s still working behind the scenes — finding every missing piece, mending every broken one, carefully building something beautiful.
Some Builds Just Take Time
When I was at Legoland, I saw tiny builds made in minutes and massive displays that must have taken months or even years to complete. Some were simple, others breathtakingly complex — yet every one was made with care.
That’s how it is with us too. Some people’s faith journeys seem straightforward; everything fits easily into place. Others — maybe yours — are far more complicated. You might feel like a thousand scattered pieces right now.
But that’s not a sign of failure — it’s a sign that God is building something extraordinary. The more complicated the build, the more impressive the finished masterpiece will be.
Trust the Process
When you open a Lego set, you don’t always understand how each piece fits together. You just follow the builder’s instructions one step at a time. It’s the same with God. You don’t need to see the whole picture; you just need to trust the Builder.
Even when it hurts. Even when it takes longer than you thought. Even when it feels like you’re missing too many pieces to go on.
He hasn’t given up on you. He hasn’t forgotten you. He’s still building.
And when He’s done, you’ll see — every piece had a purpose. Every delay, every rebuild, every moment on the shelf was shaping you into the masterpiece He always intended.
Final Thoughts
So, if you’re feeling stuck, broken, or unfinished — take heart.
You’re not a lost cause. You’re a work in progress.
God, the Master Builder, is still at work.
And when He’s finished, the world will look at your life and see something breathtaking — a testimony of His creativity, patience, and love.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”
— Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
